The primary objective of this proposal is the establishment in the city of Chania (Crete) of the Innovation Centre of Crete (ICC) emphasizing the management of natural resources and in particular, sustainable agricultural development, tackling of the environmental problems created by the primary sector and, the valorization of agricultural products and byproducts through the creation of high value-added products. In addition, it is the aim of this proposal to provide pilot scale demonstration of existing innovative research findings by the research organizations of Crete and their dissemination to the private sector. The centre will act as a liaison between the research institutions and the private sector for technology transfer of innovative products and services related to the primary sector.
